Identification

An implanted microchip is under the skin. A proprietary RFID tag hangs from a collar. A feeder may support one, both, or neither. Read the plain-English guide.

Feeder job

Timed dispensing and selective access are different functions, but can coexist. PETLIBRO PLAF301 does both using its collar tag. SureFeed and MiBowl open a filled bowl without dispensing timed portions.

Food format

Hopper dispensers are generally for kibble. Covered bowls can hold wet or dry food but do not automatically dispense timed portions.
