Will this cat feeder work with your cat’s existing microchip?

Answer three quick questions to see whether a feeder reads implanted microchips or needs a proprietary collar tag, and whether it is for dry food or wet food.

RFID does not automatically mean “reads implanted microchips”

01

Identification

An implanted microchip is under the skin. A proprietary RFID tag hangs from a collar. A feeder may support one, both, or neither. Read the plain-English guide.

02

Feeder job

A scheduled dispenser releases portions at set times. A selective-access bowl opens for a recognised pet. These solve different problems.

03

Food format

Hopper dispensers are generally for kibble. Covered bowls can hold wet or dry food but do not automatically dispense timed portions.
